Winter Horseback Riding: What to Expect
- No horseback riding on check-in and check-out days.
- Winter rides are walk-only for the safety of both horses and guests. If you want to trot or lope, we recommend visiting May–October, when trail riding is more active.
- Most trails are closed in winter, but we maintain two trail areas for rides ranging 45 minutes to 1.5 hours. If you want to explore more of the ranch’s 8500+ acres in the winter you may wish to consider a snowmobile tour.
Get an early start to winter and head up the mountain for a dude ranch getaway in early December! Join us for a rare 2-night minimum stay and enjoy gourmet food, luxury lodging, horseback riding and lots of ranch activities! Depending on the weather, you could enjoy snow tubing and cross-country skiing, plus we offer complimentary shuttles to nearby ski resorts.
Outdoor activities that don’t require snow include guided hiking and mountain biking, plus jumping on the feedwagon for an early-morning visit to the horses is a favorite activity for the whole family. During inclement weather, you can participate in archery and hatchet throwing in our heated indoor arena. We have lots to do in any season, and most of the activities are included in your package. Optionally you can visit our award-winning spa, go trap shooting or get a bird’s eye view of the ranch via the zipline (weather permitting).
This special won’t last, so book today!
