If you are experiencing symptoms or suspect you are sick with Covid (or any other flu-like illnesses) C Lazy U Ranch strongly recommends you seek medical attention and appropriate testing prior to visiting the ranch. Anyone who has recently tested positive with Covid, been exposed to Covid or is still contagious is advised to cancel your travel plans to C Lazy U Ranch to avoid infecting others. C Lazy U Ranch is committed to providing a safe environment for all guests and employees and therefore recommends you follow current state and national guidelines for preventing the spread of communicable diseases via isolation, quarantine and inoculation. In addition, C Lazy U Ranch strongly recommends purchasing travel insurance that covers cancellations due to Covid or other illnesses.

Cancellation Policy

Your initial deposit is non-refundable at time of booking. Your final deposit will be nonrefundable 60 days prior to your arrival.

If an individual in your party contracts Covid and the individual or the group has to cancel last minute, all deposits received to date are non-refundable.  C Lazy U Ranch strongly recommends that each individual purchase travel insurance to protect against all unexpected reasons for a cancellation.

Rebooking Policy for Return Guests

A high percentage of guests desire to re-book during the peak summer season and holiday periods.  Because of this, C Lazy U Ranch has a formalized rebooking policy for these periods.  The intention of this policy is to provide a higher level of transparency and commitment via a deposit which also allows better access to availability for new and current guests that want to book with us.

  • Rebooking requests need to be completed by filling out the Rebooking Form, by calling reservations at 970-887-3344, or emailing info@clazyu.com
  • If the reservations department does not receive a rebooking form or other aforementioned rebooking correspondence, the ranch will release your respective cabin 14 days following checkout.
  • By filling out the rebooking form, we will automatically reserve the same cabin you had for the current year for the following year.
  • Cabins will only be held by remitting a NON-REFUNDABLE 5% deposit which will be invoiced following your stay and must be paid within 14 days of invoice receipt.
  • If you do not respond to the deposit request by the deadline date your cabin will be released for resale.

Gratuities

At checkout the final folio will have an area to leave optional tip for employees that is directly distributed to team members to recognize outstanding service above and beyond your expectations. Guests are not required to leave a tip but may do so at their discretion. A gratuity can be left at any desired amount on your final folio at checkout in the Outfitters Cabin.

Dress Code

C Lazy U Ranch has a storied history spanning over 100 years dating back to the early 1900’s and it has always been customary to dress up for dinner.  The guests at C Lazy U Ranch have their own version of dressing up and we classify it as “Cowboy Chic”.

Dressing up at the ranch doesn’t require a sport coat, although you may see one or two.  It does typically require a blouse, a collared shirt and your best cowboy boots.   Our guests have fun with western fashion and may often be seen in a fancy western shirt, crisp blue jeans and a handsome belt and cowboy boots.

Don’t be surprised to see a nice cowboy hat on the men at cocktail hour, but this hat will surely come off for dinner as a traditional gesture.  We welcome everyone to wear jeans (no shorts please) and we simply ask that your jeans are dinner dressy and appropriate.  We kindly ask that all groups and kids at C Lazy U follow this general policy during times where everyone is dining together in the main lodge.

Often families will coordinate dressing carefully for our summer Friday morning breakfast at the scenic Woodsie overlook.  This spectacular vista is the ideal backdrop for a family portrait or holiday greeting card photo.

Our cookout events are less formal, but don’t be surprised to see your neighbors strutting their finest western gear here too.  Keeping things a bit more formal and “Cowboy Chic” for the dinner presentation each night just adds to the fun of C Lazy U Ranch and we appreciate your abiding by this policy.

Drone Policy

For the safety of guests and animals alike, drones are prohibited at C Lazy U Ranch.

Pet Policy

Unfortunately pets are not allowed at C Lazy U Ranch.

Emotional Support vs. Service Animal

The C Lazy U Ranch abides by the law as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act and as such will make reasonable accommodation for service animals. Per Title II and III of the ADA, a service animal is trained to perform a specific task for a disabled person. Emotional support animals are not considered service animals by the ADA and therefore C Lazy U Ranch does not allow them at the ranch. This is for safety reasons in order to avoid the potential concern of dogs spooking horseback rides and causing an accident or injury to a guest or horse.

Sunday Horseback Riding

In order to ensure the safety of our guests and horses we do not offer horseback riding on Sundays. There are a few exceptions to this rule/policy during certain holidays. Please contact the reservations department to inquire about a specific date.

Horseback Riding Weight Restrictions:

The C Lazy U Ranch considers safety as one of our most important responsibilities. This obligation includes horseback riding operations and requires us to ensure the safety of both rider and horse. As such, the C Lazy U will exercise caution with regard to allowing horseback riding for individuals of heavier weights. The weight limit for horseback riding at C Lazy U Ranch is restricted to 250 pounds. C Lazy U Ranch considers several factors in determining whether or not an individual is too heavy or too big to ride, including: rider’s physical fitness, riding experience and ability, size of the horse, type of terrain, speed of ride, and other factors. As a general rule, horses can safely carry loads of up to 20% of their body weight including rider, saddle and tack. The C Lazy U ranch will exercise discretion when addressing these issues and reserves the right to prohibit riding or restrict riding to level terrain, or walk-only rides. Please do not hesitate to contact our Barn Manager to discretely discuss specific circumstances.

Smoking

The C Lazy U Ranch is a non-smoking property. A deep cleaning fee will be charged for smoking in rooms.

Controlled Substance Policy

C Lazy U Ranch does not permit within the property unlawful possession or use of controlled substances as defined under either federal or state law. C Lazy U Ranch is committed to providing a safe, healthy and memorable experience for all its guests. We therefore ask all guests to respect our policy in maintaining a drug free property, which includes the prohibition of marijuana as required by federal law. Please feel free to contact C Lazy U Ranch with any questions or concerns.

From the Horse's Mouth

Since it was my first time booking with the ranch I had many questions leading up to our visit. Some of which were probably repeat questions but anytime I called the front desk, the staff was always so patient and informative. Mike was our first introduction to the ranch and he really set the tone for the warm and inclusive welcome we received our whole trip.
