  1. Petey, you are awesomely handsome wearing the ear warmers (or Santa hat, whichever you prefer). Can’t wait to hug you again. BTW, you need to reconsider Huck as a friend. He shook his head at me lasts week-end and I laughed. He backed up after that so suggest you use your sense of humor when dealing with a longhorn steer.

    1. thanks so much, Denise… it’s definitely a Santa hat, but gosh all mighty were my ears warm during the photo shoot, so I guess you could call it either!

I know, I know, everyone keeps telling me Huck’s not so bad… and I have to say, he isn’t near as popular as when he first got here (I hardly hear anyone talking about him anymore), so I guess it would be OK to befriend him… you know, people just don’t know how difficult celebrity really is- my job is not that easy (being famous for being myself, that is); it’s difficult to remain as interesting and popular as I have throughout the years, and I guess that ol’ Huck just didn’t have what it takes. Thanks, Denise, for showing me the light- I’ll see what I can do with him (of course, I’ll be bringing a couple of my friends in his pen with me, just in case- all celebrities have a body guard after all).

I look forward to the next time I get to see you at the ranch too- but, next time, when you bring me your hug, could you also provide a handful of grain? 🙂

What image do you think of when someone mentions the great American West? Cowboys? Horses? An eagle on the wing? Or, do you picture amber waves of grain and purple mountain majesties above the fruited plain?  The West is synonymous with awe-striking, wide-open spaces to be explored. Here at C Lazy U Ranch, we have … Continue Reading »

From the Horse's Mouth

We loved chatting with the ranch hands and learning all about the history of C Lazy U. Special call out for Ally who was so friendly and showed us an excellent and adventurous ride all while making us feel welcome. Spencer's stories were fantastic and we appreciated him sharing his experiences all while having a great time exploring the trails. Franny was so helpful and attentive during the clinical sessions. I took lessons as a kid and never got so much one-on-one help with my posture and horsemanship. Though we were rusty, she made us feel so comfortable. We were both nervous but she put us immediately at ease. Thanks to the ranch hands for such a wonderful experience!
