Fall Horseback Riding: What to Expect

  • No horseback riding on check-in and check-out days.
  • Trail rides in fall are typically walk-only or walk-trot when conditions permit.
  • This event does not include cattle working. If you are interested in our Working Cattle Ranch Experience, consider booking one of our week-long summer stays occurring mid-June to mid-August.

Ease into the holiday season with a Pre-Thanksgiving Family Getaway at C Lazy U Ranch. Whether you’re looking to unplug before the pace of the holidays ramps up or wanting to extend your stay into Thanksgiving, these flexible dates offer the perfect lead-in to one of the most popular weeks of the year.

Spend your days enjoying the ranch at a more relaxed, early-winter pace—horseback riding, time outdoors, and family-friendly activities that bring everyone together before the season gets busy. Depending on conditions, you may enjoy early snow play like tubing and cross-country skiing, or take advantage of hiking, mountain biking, and feedwagon rides to help care for the horses. Indoor activities such as archery and hatchet throwing in our heated arena ensure there’s always something to do, regardless of the weather.

Your stay includes gourmet meals, luxury lodging, and the majority of ranch activities, with optional add-ons like spa services, trap shooting, and ziplining available as weather permits. Come early, settle in, and start your Thanksgiving season feeling refreshed, connected, and fully present.
